The article is devoted to the philosophical issues of such well-known psychological phenomena as evil and gossip, and, in general, to the infliction of harm on others, that is, the dissemination of knowingly false information about someone. The article shows how gossip hinders the development of the individual, society, science, and the state. The philosophical cause of evil and gossip has been identified. The mechanisms of development, manifestation, and, in general, the emergence of this psychological phenomenon have been developed. Methods for overcoming this negative phenomenon that interferes with existence and development are proposed. It is shown that gossip is inextricably linked with fixed ideas existing in society. It is also established how gossip, and the commission of evil in general, destroys the intellectual abilities of both the individual and society. This leads to an even greater development of evil and gossip. Therefore, it is necessary to get rid of gossip, as Scripture requires. Otherwise, in addition to the degradation of society, this can lead to even more negative consequences.
