This article deals with the arguments “for” and “against” the use of modern technology in English language classes. The authors have analyzed the using of modern technologies in English classes contributes to the achievement of a high level of development of foreign language information and communication competence and better memorization of the studied material. Emphasis is placed on the creative nature of the considered educational technologies that contribute to the creation of a teaching language environment including in its space all teachers striving for a creative search for self-expression and self-development. The main purpose of the research is to facilitate the work of the teacher and improve the quality of his/her activities to a level corresponding to modern standards. In this article, we give advice on how to use interactive teaching methods, including in lessons different types of educational, experimental activities. According to its purpose, the following tasks are set in scientific reseach work: improving the quality of education of students, improving the professional level of a teacher, diversity of forms of interpersonal communication of all participants in the educational process. To solve these issues, the following research methods are used: theoretical and comperative analysis. The information, provided in this article is based on an analysis of contemporary lessons conducted in several educational centers. The following results were obtained: development of creative opportunities and abilities of students, creation of conditions for self-education, increased productivity in lessons, acquisition of real experience of intercultural communication, development of the ability to navigate in a modern foreign-language information environment.
