Abstract:

In today’s globalized world, foreign language acquisition is essential for both personal and professional success. This article examines language learning strategies from theoretical and practical perspectives, focusing on recent methodologies and pedagogical approaches. The aim is to identify how various learning strategies (cognitive, metacognitive, and social) impact learners’ language skills — listening, speaking, reading, and writing. The research is grounded in a literature review and recent empirical studies. Findings suggest that the purposeful use of individualized and collaborative strategies enhances language proficiency, increases learner motivation, and fosters self-regulation. This article also highlights the importance of new strategy selection in optimizing language learning outcomes in military educational institutions. At the same time, the article also analizes the implementation of task based communicative approach in teaching English in military educational institutions. The study aims to examine this strategy on the development of cadets` professional communicative skills. The findings indicate that task based activities enhance language use in authentic military contexts. Practical recommendations for integrating this strategy into the teaching process are provided.
