Title:CARL SAGAN’S COSMOLOGICAL VIEWS (in Azerbaijani)
Volume:7
Issue:1
Abstract:

World-renowned scientist Carl Sagan has had a significant impact and made significant contributions to many fields of science. Pulitzer Prize-winning author Carl Sagan's book "Space" has sold more than seven million copies. Sagan's main areas of research were planetary surfaces and atmospheres. He created a greenhouse model of the atmosphere of Venus, and also found evidence for elevation differences on the surface of Mars and organic molecules in the atmosphere of Jupiter. In recognition of his scientific achievements, the International Astronomical Union named asteroid 2709 "Carl Sagan" in 1982.

In his book "Space," the famous American astronomer Carl Sagan describes the past and present of the universe. The main goals of space science are to determine the position of the Earth in the universe, to study the relationship between humans and the universe, to investigate the structure and evolution of the universe, to monitor the development of the aerospace industry, and to study extraterrestrial civilizations. Sagan advanced important ideas about the nature of life on Earth, the conditions that support its emergence, and how it might exist elsewhere in the universe. He suggested that life might be widespread in the universe, but that this might vary significantly depending on the environments of different planets.

Carl Sagan participated in nearly all of NASA's space exploration missions of the second half of the 20th century. He was one of the founding scientists of the field of exobiology, the study of life on a universal scale. Sagan presents our cosmos as a vast entity far beyond human comprehension, and compares the importance of Earth to a speck of dust.
