During the Second World War II, the Azerbaijani people joined the struggle against the fascist invaders with great determination and Azerbaijani soldiers and fighters actively participated in various fronts of the war. This article covers Azerbaijan`s participation in World War II, in particular the creation of national divisions, the establishment of military-organizational work, the training of national cadres, the revealing of the fighting qualities of Azerbaijanis, and the bravery and heroic activities of Azerbaijani soldiers and officers in achieving victory in this war. The article presents the battles and operations conducted by the national divisions created within the Soviet Army at the beginning of the war, during the war, and the contributions made by these national divisions to victory against the backdrop of the changing landscape of the war.
