The article examines the thought-out policy of national leader Heydar Aliyev in the development of friendly and cooperative relations between Azerbaijan and Georgia and the role of President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, who duly continues this policy. It should be noted that the establishment of diplomatic relations between Azerbaijan and Georgia took place on november 18, 1992, the Georgian embassy in Baku was opened in february 1995, and the Azerbaijani embassy in Tbilisi was opened in march 1996. In march 1996, national leader Heydar Aliyev paid an official visit to Georgia, during which the Georgian declaration was signed. On march 14, 2008, Georgia voted at the UN General Assembly to adopt resolution 62243 on the situation in the occupied territories of Azerbaijan, which once again proves the strong ties of friendship and cooperation between the two countries. It should be noted that President Ilham Aliyev, who duly continued the political course of national leader Heydar Aliyev, paid an official visit to Georgia in june 2004, and in february 2019, President of Georgia Salome Zurabishvili paid an official visit to our country. The article also discusses the falsification of Georgian and Albanian monuments by armenians. From this point of view, reference was made to prominent public figures of the time, such as Vasily Velichko, Pushkin and Ilya Chavchavadze, and the falsification of historical stones by armenians was exposed in a workshop in Kalbajar.
