Abstract:

Unpleasant emotion is also an important factor in the use of psychoactive substances and relapses (relapses). Researchers have thoroughly studied the emotional mechanisms underlying the use of psychoactive substances and concluded that avoiding or avoiding unpleasant emotions is the main motivation for addiction and relapse. For this reason, acceptance and commitment therapy interventions are one of the treatment strategies chosen to regulate emotions. This article examines the practical areas in the treatment of psychoactive substance users. Acceptance and commitment as the third wave of behavioral therapy helps individuals stop managing or avoiding unpleasant feelings or emotions caused by craving or releasing psychoactive substances, and increases their agility and desire to develop ACT resilience to survive them. The six main processes of ACT are: a model of psychological elasticity; scattering of ideas, perception, as their own contextual, values, decided action, to be in the present moment. This work is a descriptive analysis. Of the 14 studies related to acceptance and commitment in addiction treatment (recent studies from 2003 to 2019), treatment outcomes were practically feasible, and the findings showed that acceptance and commitment treatment was appropriate to avoid psychoactive substance abuse.
